Hey HN,

A while ago, I built a simple tool for my team of content clippers. They needed a way to quickly edit videos stored on Drive. Downloading, editing, and re-uploading was a pain, so I built a Chrome extension that lets them edit videos directly inside gDrive. As I’m paying my VAs hourly this saves us a good amount of money every month.

Under the hood the extension uses webcodecs and wasm for processing. Right now, it works best with MP4 files. Some MOV files don’t process correctly, which has been a challenge, but I’m working on improving that. You can also copy and paste editing presets across multiple videos to speed things up when repurposing content.
