I'm So Bored with the USA

5 points by rbizyrbiz 12 hours ago

I'm living on a small SaaS that will hopefully sustain myself into retirement and give a little income (have had some past exits that I am lucky for, this one will probably cap out on TAM, but good enough)

That said, I'm funding/developing this all myself and I'm looking to move myself and the company out of the US.

I'm sure the US is still the top place to run a startup for financial/networking reasons, but I don't need that for this one and I'd rather deal with a little more red tape in a country I feel aligns better w my values.

I'm just curious if anyone has made this kind of move , and any advice on how to do it right for a small 1-2 person profitable LLC?

If you just want out now then you might look at a digital nomad visa: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_nomad

Do you speak any other languages? Red tape will be considerately easier in an English-speaking country.

Do you have family history outside the US? That can definitely help with getting a right to remain / citizenship.

What are your values? You'll get more useful and actionable advice by elaborating a bit on this.

Ehh, big fat liberal, prob more Canada/EU but flex to go beyond (I can do citizenship either way, and willing to look at other places I might not be familiar with if they are even somewhat biz friendly)

Just wondering what the logistics are of moving the corporation over, not looking to start a big political discussion.

Thread title was from Joe Strummer thats all.
